Leader Training

Leader Training

Morris Higham Management (map)

Once per quarter we offer training to everyone who is a small-group leader with us. This time is a great way for our leaders to stay connected with us and each other. It also allows us the opportunity to continuing to sharpen our approach so that we offer our best every time we lead a small group.

The agenda for this meeting is TBD.

We ask that all of our leaders attend these quarterly meetings. They are also open to anyone involved with us who would like concentrated training in leading a small group. If you help lead groups for other organizations or churches we'd love to have you too!

Please RSVP below to let us know you are coming.

Thank you!

Jack Plating is an entrepreneurial, results-oriented executive with extensive leadership experience in the mobile telecom industry. His accomplishments include repeated success driving multimillion- dollar sales increases, unprecedented customer acquisition/retention and favorable worldwide press through “high-octane,” growth-enabling marketing strategies and campaigns. He is a respected leader of diverse teams; an innovator of programs and collateral proven to outdistance the competition; and a valued strategist, resource and problem-solver for senior executive colleagues.

Jack’s 35-year career includes critical roles in the development of what is today America’s largest mobile telecom provider, Verizon Wireless, from which he retired at the end of 2009 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. An expert in sales, marketing and brand development, Jack developed and managed the company’s multi-channel distribution strategies, including enterprise solutions, business-to-business sales, a vast network of retail partners, and a comprehensive consumer marketing effort that includes more than 2,300 company-owned stores. He oversaw alignment of Verizon Wireless’s brand and the experience delivered through its customer service and operations, including advertising and marketing, product development and inventory management, and a customer service function that included 32 call centers and more than 85,000 employees across the country.

In addition, Jack has participated in more than a dozen mergers and acquisitions, including managing Verizon Wireless’s $28 billion acquisition of Alltel and its 11 million subscribers. He is a frequent presenter at analyst meetings, industry conferences and panel discussions, and has served on the COO Board for the Cellular Telephone Industry Association.

Jack began his career as a district sales manager for Motorola, then worked in sales and operations for two privately owned paging companies. In 1989 he led the development of the wireless communications business for Metro Mobile, which was later acquired by Bell Atlantic Mobile. He served as Regional Vice President, Northeast Region President and Executive Vice President & COO of Bell Atlantic Mobile until, in 2000, he was named President of the South Area for the newly created Verizon Wireless, overseeing the integration of Bell Atlantic Mobile, AirTouch, GTE and Prime Co. into one operating unit and corporate culture.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Jack resides in Greenville, S.C., with his wife, Cindy. They have three grown children.
